Camp Rock and a Pair

Jacket:from the 90's
Dress:St. Francis Square
Flats: SM
Bag: Aldo

So, I woke up last Saturday to realize Demi Lovato can be a fashion inspiration (am I nuts? A LITTLE). Below is a scene from Camp Rock 2 ( yes, I'm an over-age watching Disney movies) and above was the dress I was supposed to wear for my movie date with girlfriends, Mae, Lucil and Missy but unfortunately, was cancelled for a reason I never get to know because I also got sick. I realized it wasn't that hard to pose even when I'm sick..hahaha

Anyway, if your a 90's baby like me, the denim jacket is a very familiar piece in every girl's closet. I almost threw all of them lately because I never grew fat to fit perfectly in them. I just decided to keep the one I was wearing because it's the closest that can hug my tiny body like that of Demi Lovato (enough mentioning her name here, please) and I think I was pleased enough to wear it all over again but this time not with a denim pants and shirt like in highschool but with a sunny yellow dress and a tan pointy toe flats.

And there's another copycat.. Was I pissed off or trying to imitate the expression of Demi?.hahaha..whichever..

Pair everything with a red lipstick and a fantastic person and I'll never ever think I was sick when all of these were taken.

Some things just need to come in pairs...I found mine already..

Growing up..

Everything feels different today. My birthday is just around the corner but contrary to people who feel afraid of getting old, I am fully embracing the fact that I'm 23 in just a few days.

But, ironically, I'm getting back to my old hobby that started back in highschool and my first victim was my jeans.

See? It's ripped! (here's how)..and I'm lovin' how some skin peeked through my personal ripped jeans except that at the end of the day, I felt the jeans was about to give up on my thighs! Thus, you'll see me wearing this only once, I guess.

And speaking of growing up, I was forced to grow a few inches because of this shoes (hub's gift again). I never thought I was small until I found 6 footer lover..hahaha..
Top: Surplus
Blazer:SM
Jeans:Pasalubong from Hawaii
Shoes: Celine
Bag;Figliarina

And there I go! I'm 23 soon and loving it..

From HK with Love

As I promised, here's the pics of hub's pasalubong from HK. While trying to find the best way to wear this gray "vest", my cousin said "hindi ba pang beach yan?" Hmmmm. He made a point but that didn't stop me from wearing this for my movie date with hub and Mark, my cousin.

The black rose..

The necklace..which you've seen in my previous post..

And there I go..

And the person behind the fashion I am claiming today and the passion that makes me live everyday...

Thank you, hub!

Lazy today (sorry for the lack of content) because of all the work I need to catch up with but I think it will never be an excuse to have fun during weekends..The best part has always been the digging of the closet part to get the best combi that suits my mood.

Today, I'll be wearing my hubs pasalubong from Hongkong!!! Pics soon!

Make Up Makes Sense

(My camera just got back from its hospital, Sony Service Center, so expect better pics to come!)

So what's your take on make-up? I appreciate natural beauty  and I think there's nothing better than how a woman looks like after a good night sleep. Agree? On the other hand, I cannot claim for a flawless face, so I would still need some help and my make-up kit will always be my beauty buddy.

To keep things simple, I owe this make-up organizer I got from SM department store for keeping all my stuff in an orderly position. All these stuff used to be messing my bag and this make-up organizer saved me from a lot of trouble.

What's Inside?

Revlon Colorstay Mineral foundation
What I love about Revlon, aside from being a mineral makeup, is that they have a wide range of shades for their foundation. Right now, I'm using the Medium Deep (70). Prior to that, I was a big fan of Maybelline Mineral Foundation Deep Ochre until they decided to pull it out from the market. I had to look for another brand with the best shade to match my skin and unfortunately, I went for Covergirl Trublend Microminerals  that caused me nothing but zits! That's the time I decided to try Revlon. Despite the good reviews, I was a bit hesitant at first because I was really not into spending too much for make up and Revlon is a bit pricey than Maybeline and Covergirl. But if we talk about quality and quantity, then Revlon is worth spending for...Oh but don't expect too much on the brush because it tends to leave its bristles on my face when I use it for applying. Nonetheless, I think this is the best among the 3 brands I've tried.

Max Factor Concealer

The best thing about my experience with this Max factor concealer is that I've bought this a year ago and yes, it's still performing at its top shape for me. It's lasting more than how much I've expected it to and it's giving me the coverage that doesn't look funny especially in pictures. Just to avoid the grease after some extended hours of wearing it and to keep it longer, never forget to add some pressed powder or loose powder as finishing touch.

Maybelline Pressed Powder

This is the usual product seen on tv and what I love about it is that it has the SPF to add up with my mineral foundation and it really lives up to the clear smooth finish that it claims. My problem with it, however, is that it looks awful in pictures. It gives me this ghostly white look especially when I'm using a poor camera or the camera isn't set on the proper mode. Tell me if you have the same experience or feel free to suggest a better brand.

Maybelline Unstoppable Curly Extension

It's waterproof. It's giving my eyelashes the best boost. It's perfect for people like me with very short eyelashes...but you won't find me wearing it daily because the removing part is a little bit tedious..haha

Liquid Eyeliner

I wasn't blessed with eyes that naturally pop, so I can say I'm done with my daily make-up routine when I have my liquid eyeliner. I'm not particular with the brand as long as it's liquid and dries up quickly. What you can see above is from Everbilena, although I would suggest the version of Fashion 21 because it has softer thin brush and it lasts longer.

Lipstick, lipstick and lipstick

Lately, I'm really obsessing with lipstick and nothing beats the statement of a hot lips. On a regular day, meaning I'm in the mood but it's work day baby!, I choose Maybeline's Cosy Tangerine for its natural looking shade. I go for Revlon's Ruby whenever I need to manipulate somebody (hahahha..kidding!) or just to simply glam up any attire, regardless if it's my office uniform or my latest dress from the thrift. The New Pink from Lancome is a pasalubong from my Mom and it's not really my favorite, but I love how it compliments all the violets and pinks in my closet. Lastly, my newest baby is the Soft Nude from Revlon. Pair it with bold eyes and there I go! I feel like a model from the glossy magazines.. Hahaha.. but hub finds the color a little different...

And for my "lips like sugar" complements, I have my Nivea Lip Balm, Lancome and Victoria Lip Gloss and Nichido Lip Stain.

Reinvention

Welcome to the new look of my site. I'm still in love with anything black and white but I think the first one was a pretty mess..

The new look has less pictures around but what I love about it is the new header which speaks more of me. It's casual and bolder but with sense and depth..

Enjoy the site!

One Sundate

We (hub and I)  believe Thursday is the start of weekend. At least this way, we always have the mindset of having half of the week devoted for ourselves..And that's what we've always had..time and devotion..
At Eat n' Go, SM Megamall

Our hunger brought us to Eat n' Go at SM Megamall but after spending about five hundred pesos, it made me want to go..Sorry, bad review..

I don't really look happy with the food..but you eat everything when you're hungry

Shirt, Hollister
Pants, Penshoppe
Shoes, Diesel
In short, hub's signature casual..hehehe

40's style gray and metallic silver checkered dress, thrift

I'm quite aloof with colors as shown with my latest pick. This is a total reversal from my Psychedelic outfits, talking about neon green and pink slippers, orange racer back etc, back in college. Is this the sign of the aging soul?Or of the classic woman?I don't know, but lately white, gray, black and earth colors invade my closet...but never my heart...'cause there's always someone who makes my life colorful and wonderful..

Bag, Figliarina

And the best part, I went home with my new darling..a very practical bag..one who will go with me to work and have fun with me during our Sundates...

Vintage Sighting: The Stunning Betty Grable

Her most famous bathing suit photo which made her the #1 pin up girl in World War II!

Photos from http://bettygrable.net
I definitely envy this (woot woot!) American culture icon's hour glass figure (her vital stats ranges around the perfect 36-24-36) but I'd rather drool over her million dollar legs! As a hot legs enthusiast, I just found out that Betty Grable was noted for the ideal proportions of her legs: thigh(18.5”), calf (12”) and ankle (7.5”)....and I think I'm an inch thicker around each part..hahahaha..Overall, at least she wasn't leaning to the stick thin legs of models nowadays...And for my last sidenote, based on a survey, 70% of men prefer fuller legs which is contrary to women's preference for  thinner legs! A Sunny Night

Because I chose not to work this weekend (yes, there's a choice), I couldn't let the rainy season stop me from shining with a bright yellow top and bringing a very sunny disposition to one of our cheap but awesome dates last Saturday.

Yellow ruffled top from SFS,jeans, brown Roxy clutch bag, brown wedge

The man who keeps my life shining

I wanna be your last, first kiss

You can't call me a music person, but some tunes just keep me up especially on a rainy day like this. Thanks, hub, for sharing this song to me. You are my last!

There are many firsts...but only one last..

Inevitable
Anberlin

Do you remember when we were just kids
And cardboard boxes took us miles from what we would miss
Schoolyard conversations taken to heart
And laughter took the place of everything we knew we were not

I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again
We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives
Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Amazing how life turns out the way that it does
We end up hurting the worst, the only ones we really love

I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again
We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives
Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now
Is it over how hey, hey, it's not over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have (that you'll ever have)
I wanna be your last, first love (that you'll ever have)
Till you're lying here beside me with arms and eyes open wide

I wanna be your last, first kiss for all time

The Tattoo Experience

Honestly, I’m one of those who have always wanted to have a tattoo but when you ask me why, shallow as it may seem, my only reason is for aesthetic. I say this because other people have a real purpose for wanting one and undergoing the pain. Some would dedicate this to a departed love one and some would really choose designs that represent different aspects of their lives. But for a skin baring person like me, I’m just really up for the thrill of seeing something that’s not in other people’s skin..
The inspiration
I had a hard time looking for a design because I don’t really have a meaning in mind, but because I love calla lily (which is another story), I finally decided to have it as my tattoo.
Glenn and I decided to have it together at the same time and after hours of browsing, I finally chose Toxztattoo which is conveniently locataed at Robinsons Metroeast. For a price of P2500 I was able to have the tattoo you’ll be seeing later and a small ambigram on my left shoulder.
Just for the aftercare, petroleum jelly is a must at first but don’t expect it to help the tattoo heal because it just keeps the wound moist. My tattoo was sort of a painting (and definitely not the ex-con type) so it required a lot of colors and strokes which meant it was more painful. One time, I made the mistake of wearing a silky black polo to work. After some hours, the petroleum jelly dried and the polo sticked to my tattoo…The hell part was removing the polo from the tattoo.. To help tattoo heal fast, the tattoo artist recommended Vandol Cream. It was a little expensive but definitely worth the price.
The Calla Lily and Coi Fish
So there you go! The calla lily meets the coi fish (of Glenn)…It’s about 4 inches wide and 6 inches long on my right shoulder. The ambigram (not in the picture) is located on my left shoulder.
